🥩 Weekly Stock Picks: HPE & Synopsys

New FREE picks from our Quant/AI strategy | October 29, 2026

This week’s free Quant/AI stock picks highlight an AI-infrastructure momentum play and a semiconductor-design pullback setup.

🥩 Stock: Hewlett Packard Enterprise
💹 Ticker: HPE
💼 Sector: Technology
🎯 Estimated return: 11.2% to 351.2%
📅 Date of maximum return: February 18, 2027 (118 days left)

The Setup

HPE triggered an Evening Star pattern, a three-candle formation that often appears after an extended move and can signal a pause or reversal in short-term momentum. The model assigns an 84-day window, giving the setup time to resolve rather than requiring an immediate continuation.

An Evening Star is not automatically bearish in every context. Here, the model is treating it as a potential exhaustion-and-reset signal after HPE’s strong run, looking for whether demand can absorb supply and establish a new base.

Based on this setup, the Quant model projects a 11.2% to 351.2% reference return through February 18, 2027. This is a statistical estimate, not a ceiling.

What AI Says

HPE’s recent results show accelerating demand across AI infrastructure, servers, and networking. Fiscal Q3 revenue reached $12.2 billion, up 34% year over year, while Cloud & AI revenue rose 25.4% to $9.0 billion. Server revenue increased 35.3% to $6.8 billion, and networking revenue climbed 74.9% to $2.9 billion.

Management raised its fiscal 2026 revenue-growth outlook to 34%–37% and increased non-GAAP EPS guidance to $3.75–$3.85. AI Systems orders reached $2.4 billion, up more than 30% sequentially, while AI Systems backlog rose 14% to a record $6.8 billion.

The fundamental case is that enterprise AI is moving beyond early training pilots toward inferencing and agentic workloads, expanding demand for AI systems, storage, private cloud, and networking. The main risks are margin timing, supply-chain execution, and converting a large backlog into profitable revenue.

The Opportunity

HPE combines a technically stretched momentum setup with a fundamentally strong AI-infrastructure outlook. The Evening Star suggests the recent advance may need to consolidate, while record backlog, rising AI orders, and raised guidance provide a reason why any pullback could attract demand.

This is a longer-duration setup rather than a short-term momentum trade. If HPE continues converting backlog into revenue and maintains networking momentum, the model’s 84-day window allows time for the next leg of the AI-infrastructure cycle to develop.

🥩 Stock: Synopsys
💹 Ticker: SNPS
💼 Sector: Technology
🎯 Estimated return: 11.2% to 351.2%
📅 Date of maximum return: February 9, 2027 (109 days left)

The Setup

Synopsys presents a pullback setup after a Two Black Gapping pattern combined with a close below its 50-day exponential moving average. This sequence indicates that sellers gained control and price broke below a key medium-term trend reference.

The model assigns a 79-day window, so it is not looking for an immediate reversal. Instead, it is monitoring whether the decline stabilizes and whether demand can reclaim lost ground as fundamentals remain supportive.

Based on this setup, the Quant model projects a 11.2% to 351.2% reference return through February 9, 2027. This is a statistical estimate, not a ceiling.

What AI Says

Synopsys sits at a critical layer of the semiconductor and AI ecosystem: electronic design automation, or EDA. Its software helps engineers design, verify, and manufacture advanced chips, making it a beneficiary of rising complexity in AI accelerators, high-performance computing, and system-on-chip designs.

The company’s latest quarter showed revenue of $2.48 billion, with Design Automation revenue up 53% year over year to $2.003 billion. Management cited continued strength in AI and high-performance computing and expects EDA revenue to grow at a double-digit rate for fiscal 2026.

Synopsys also guided fiscal Q4 revenue to $2.53–$2.58 billion and non-GAAP EPS to $4.10–$4.16. The investment case rests on durable demand for advanced chip design, recurring software revenue, and its role in enabling next-generation AI silicon. Key risks include semiconductor-cycle sensitivity, customer concentration, and integration or execution challenges across its design-automation portfolio.

The Opportunity

SNPS combines a technically weak short-term setup with a structurally strong position in AI chip design. The Two Black Gapping pattern and break below the 50-day EMA indicate near-term pressure, while accelerating Design Automation revenue and AI-led demand provide a potential reason for the pullback to attract buyers.

This is a longer-horizon mean-reversion setup. If advanced semiconductor design activity remains strong and Synopsys sustains its EDA momentum, the model’s 79-day window allows time for the stock to stabilize and recover; if the semiconductor cycle weakens, the technical breakdown could persist.
